Hi all,

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now generally available for Benchling tenants.

Thank you to everyone who tried MFA during Beta and shared feedback. If you're new to MFA in Benchling, the Beta post covers how it works and how to set it up.

Quick recap

Tenant admins can configure MFA in the Tenant Admin Console. MFA is disabled by default and can be set to optional, required for username & password accounts, or required for all users. Users enroll on their next login by scanning a QR code with an authenticator app.

Why enable MFA?

We care deeply about the security of your Benchling data. MFA only takes a few minutes to set up and strengthens protection for your tenant. If your organization handles sensitive or regulated data, MFA is a strong addition to your security posture.

Getting started

To turn on MFA, go to the Tenant Admin Console > Settings > Authentication. For more detail, see our help center article.
